What to expect

Your journey begins with a considered review of your previous reconstruction, implant and cancer history. Mr Khan will work closely with you to understand your priorities — whether aesthetic, functional or both — and design a tailored strategy to achieve them.

Consultation & assessment

During your consultation, Mr Khan will assess the quality of your skin, soft tissue, scars and implants (if present). Imaging such as ultrasound or MRI may be arranged to evaluate implant condition. You’ll discuss the range of available options, from simple refinements to complete revision.

Planning your refinement

Depending on your needs, Mr Khan may recommend one or more procedures — for example, fat grafting to soften contours, implant exchange for improved projection, or conversion to a DIEP or other free flap for a long-term natural result.

Day of surgery

Your procedure will take place at one of London’s leading private hospitals. The length and complexity vary depending on whether your surgery involves minor revision or full reconstruction.

Recovery and healing

After surgery, you’ll be monitored in a comfortable recovery setting before returning home or staying overnight. You’ll receive clear aftercare guidance and ongoing support from our team. Minor swelling and bruising are normal and settle gradually. For fat grafting, the donor sites also heal quickly with minimal scarring.

Follow-up & results

We’ll review your progress at regular intervals to ensure healing is smooth and outcomes meet your expectations. Over time, as swelling settles and tissues soften, you’ll see a refined, natural result that restores balance and confidence.
