Breast lift

Your procedure will be performed under a general anaesthetic, to ensure the maximum comfort, by a highly trained anaesthetist. This will be combined with local anaesthetic administration before you wake up to ensure that you are immediately comfortable and pain free. Simple painkillers are often all that is required after surgery but if something stronger is needed this will be supplied to you before you go home.

Incision placement is tailored to your individual needs, considering breast size, the degree of ptosis and your desired outcome. For most patients this will mean an anchor incision which includes a scar around the areola, a vertical scar down to the breast crease and a horizontal scar along the crease itself. Where less extensive breast lifts are required a lollipop incision, which goes around the areola and vertically to the crease or a donut incision around the nipple, in isolation, may be possible.

After the incisions are made, any excess skin is removed and the breast tissue is reshaped to create a lifted, rejuvenated contour. The tissue may be tightened and repositioned to achieve the desired look, and if the areolas are enlarged, they can be refined to a smaller, more proportionate size at the same time.

As part of the breast lift, we will also reposition the nipples and areolas to a higher location on the breasts.

Once the desired reshaping and repositioning are achieved, the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures. The incisions are typically closed in multiple layers to provide support and minimise scarring.

After your surgery, you’ll be taken to a comfortable recovery area, where our team will keep a close eye on you until you are ready to go home. Before you leave, Mr Khan will guide you through your personalised aftercare plan, including how to take your medication, when to wear a supportive bra, what activities to avoid and when to come back for your follow-up appointments, so you feel supported every step of the way.
