Flap reconstruction

Free flap (autologous) breast reconstruction uses your own tissue — most commonly from the lower abdomen, thigh or buttock — to recreate a natural-feeling breast after mastectomy.

As a consultant plastic and reconstructive microsurgeon, Mr Khan specialises in advanced techniques such as the DIEP (deep inferior epigastric perforator), PAP (profunda artery perforator), TUG (transverse upper gracilis) and LAP (lumbar artery perforator) flaps.

Each reconstruction is meticulously planned and performed using microsurgery to reconnect tiny blood vessels under the microscope, ensuring optimal tissue survival and aesthetic harmony.

For many women, free flap reconstruction offers the most natural, durable and life-like result possible — restoring both form and confidence.

I came to Mr Khan after a failed journey with other surgeons. It was worth every single second of time, energy, travel, and cost. I am beyond thrilled with my results, but the biggest change you will see, is not just the surgery I’ve had, but the smile it’s left on my face.
